The court case about an assault on a lesbian couple in January was postponed for the fourth time today because a 35-year-old woman who allegedly got involved in the fight failed to turn up in court.
Two doctors who failed to turn up for the last sitting were present today but did not testify.
Two girls, aged 15 and 16, alleged they were attacked by two brothers, aged 15 and 17, who started calling them names when they saw them kissing.
The boys were arraigned along with the 35-year-old woman. The girls too were taken to court, accused of slightly injuring the boys.
During the last sitting two doctors Carlo Refalo and Phillipa Ergyu failed to turn up to testify in spite of being notified.
In the previous sitting, the daughters of the 35-year-old woman were expected to appear as witnesses but they chose not to testify against their mother.
This left a gap in those proceedings, which was meant to be filled by the doctors’ testimony.
During the first sitting, one of the brothers failed to turn up and the sitting had to be put off.
The case has now been moved to April 11.
