Just 100 days, not four years
Emmanuel Galea of Victoria writes:
PN leader Alex BorgIn his first 100 days at the helm, Opposition leader Alex Borg did what his party had failed to achieve for four years.
He delivered on his word and filed the Nationalist Party’s long-overdue accounts, clearing a backlog that had gathered dust in full public view. The contrast speaks for itself.
His predecessor, Bernard Grech, led the party for four years without managing the same basic obligation.
Sometimes, leadership shows not in speeches but in paperwork finally done.
Land reclamation
Joseph Vella of Xagħra writes:
I fully support reclamation of land but if it is environmentally friendly. There can be bungalows or a hotel, including afforestation.
I think Malta needs this kind of project.
Addressing the traffic problem
Paul Azzopardi of Sliema writes:
Traffic on one of the main roads on a wet day. Photo: Matthew MirabelliAll private cars have number plates starting in alphabetical order. Would it be a feasible idea or worth working upon if the transport authorities impose that, say, cars with number plates starting with ABCD not be driven on a Monday; EFGH barred from being driven on a Tuesday and so on for a five- or six-day week? Sunday will not be included in this system.
I believe that, in applying this system, our roads will be at least 20 per cent freer of traffic congestion.
Is it worth a study?
