Non-degradable plastic bags of all sizes are subject to a 6c eco contribution as from today, the Ministry of Rural Affairs and the Environment said.

The ministry said amended regulations are designed to reduce the use of small plastic bags. In addition, bio-degradable plastic bags have to conform with established standards listed in the regulations in order to be exempted from the eco contribution.
