Technical delegations from Malta and Libya met in Tripoli earlier this week to discuss the processing of visas for Maltese requiring to travel to Libya.

The Foreign Ministry said Malta had presented a new proposal to the Libyan authorities through a note verbale on October 15.

The ministry said Libya was now expected to present a formal answer in the coming weeks.

Both sides agreed to meet again in Malta to continue discussions on a technical level.

This was the fifth technical meeting held between the Maltese and Libyan delegations on the visa issue.
