Lifeguards at the Blue Lagoon in Comino assisted two men, a Maltese and an Italian in separate accidents yesterday.
The voluntary Emergency Response and Rescue Corps (ERRC) said today that the first incident happened at around 1pm when a Maltese man was injured on a boat when he slipped. He was treated for back injuries and suspected fractures to his leg.
The second accident happened when an Italian man fell into a hole one metre deep. He suffered laceration wounds below his knee, injuries to the head as well as other minor wound spread along his body.
Both men, who are in their 60s, were taken to Mgarr Harbour and on to Gozo hospital for further treatment.
