Leonardo de Caprio’s film Eleventh Hour will be projected on the facade of the new parliament building on Saturday evening, kicking off a series of activities to mark Earth Hour.
Earth Hour, promoting energy conservation, will be marked across the world at 8.30p.m.
The film screening starts at 6.45pm, highlighting climate change.
That will be followed at 8.30pm by a concert at Piazza Teatru Rjal featuring Ira Losco, ambassador on sustainable development.
Other activities will include a walk by the scouts from Sliema to Valletta.
The lights will go off for an hour at St George’s Square, when they will be replaced by candles between 8.30 and 9.30pm
The lights will also go out at Portes des Bombes, the Palace, Castille and various ministries, the courts, St James Cavalier and the Manoel Theatre, among other buildings.
Some of the activities will be held in association with Nature Trust and Valletta council.
