Hibs midfielder Jackson Lima will have to miss Saturday's top-of-the-table clash with Valletta after receiving a one-match ban yesterday.

The Brazilian has been punished after he was caught on camera making an obscene gesture during Hibs' 1-0 defeat to Birkirkara last month.

Mario Muscat, the Hibs goalkeeper and captain, avoided suspension after he allegedly made insulting remarks towards Valletta vice-president Paul Spiteri after the Paolites' loss to Birkirkara.

The MFA Disciplinary Commissioner ordered that Muscat be removed from Hibs captain for a period of one month and fined him €20.

Valletta will be without Steve Borg for Saturday's game against Hibs after the sturdy defender was today given a one-match ban for four yellow cards.

Another six Premier League were handed a one-match suspension today, namely Ħamrun Spartans striker Gaetan Spiteri, Sliema defender Clifford Gatt Baldacchino, Qormi's Abubakar Bello-Osagie, Mqabba midfielder David Fenech, Balzan's Roderick Farrugia and Joseph Borg, the Floriana midfielder.
