Two hundred literature books by contemporary German authors have been donated to the German-Maltese Circle's library.

The collection came from 11 publishing houses in Frankfurt, Munich and Hamburg as a result of an initiative taken by Mr Lothar Ruske, a member of the circle living in Frankfurt and a frequent visitor to Malta.

Following this event, several famous contemporary German authors and other publishing houses have requested Mr Ruske to include them in a second donation of books to the circle.

Mr Ruske is also hoping to organise the first German-Maltese literary festival in Valletta next year.
