The European Commission has indicated that Malta has little chance of housing the European Border Agency, Leo Brincat, the Labour Party's foreign affairs spokesman, said yesterday.

Mr Brincat said the European Commission is showing more interest in basing the agency in an Eastern European country.

He was speaking at the general annual meeting of the Zabbar Labour centre.
