Liverpool defender Glen Johnson will be out of action for at least a month, Reds manager Rafael Benitez said yesterday.
The England right-back sustained a tear in the medial knee ligament of his right knee during Tuesday's 1-0 Premier League win away to Aston Villa.
"Johnson has a problem, so he'll see a specialist and then we'll talk but we know he'll be out for at least one month," Benitez told liverpoolfc.tv, the club's official website, yesterday.
"But we are waiting for another opinion and then we'll know how long."
Victory over Villa saw Liverpool move up into seventh in the table, just four points off a top four spot that would secure a place in next season's Champions League.
Tomorrow sees the Reds away to Championship strugglers Reading in the third round of the FA Cup.
