Living Interiors, that haven of contemporary design homeware and accessories, has moved into a 300-square metre converted warehouse in Luqa Briffa Street, Gzira (just behind Muscats Motors' showroom).

Admittedly, Living Interiors describe their move from their central location in Sliema as "bold" - but, as David Reginiano explained, parking has became a serious issue where retailing is concerned. Hence the move.

And it's all for the better. Living Interiors is now able to stock a wider range of products from the world-renowned brands it represents exclusively in a fashionable industrial setting. The new outlet allows for 'boutique' displays - uncluttered, appealing and functional - wider aisles and even a fully operational catering-style kitchen for events to encourage clients to enhance their culinary skills and sample new products.

This is where the company will run its other commercial activities, like hotel and restaurants commissions, from. Clients may also place wedding lists.

Living Interiors has grown with a generation of clients who love beautiful things. And the customer base is growing - life is too busy, all of us deserve beautiful things in our home. Especially things you thought you could not get in Malta like chrome retro-look blenders, Fifties-style soda-makers, bent glass coffee tables, reasonably priced oven-to-table ware, and stainless steel bathroom accessories that will keep their looks.

For those for whom space is a problem, Foppapedretti comes to the rescue with ingenious designs for folding tables and ironing stations that look great even when they are not in use.

The light in the new outlet reflects beautifully on the stock of Riedel glassware which has been extended to be true to Claus Riedel's philosophy that the correct choice of glass enhances the bouquet of individual wines. There is even the standard sample glass in stock for those who would like to indulge in a little wine-tasting at home!

For people who prefer to set their crystal aside for special occasions, there is a selection of handblown elegant glassware at giveaway prices.

Making a cup of tea and coffee has become a mundane habit. But to rediscover the pleasure of a 'brew', treat yourself to stylish Bodum tea infusion pots or coffee plungers in stainless steel and glass in a selection of designs oozing simplicity and functionality. Bodum also produce a range of hygienic knife blocks and chopping boards in scratchproof wood.

Living Interior's working kitchen (complete with running water!) has been stocked with Rösle's wide range of heavy duty utensils and accessories.

Rösle is a company with a catering background that has also turned its attention to producing a home range incorporating all the craftsmanship, reliability and durability it is renowned for. Hence 18/10 stainless steel for maximum hygiene that will stand the test of time.

Oriental food is fast becoming a firm favourite and most people are willing to try their hand at cooking up their own at home. Here at last is a wide range of woks in non-stick, carbon steel, cast iron and stainless steel.

There is a range of Asian crockery in black and white, bamboo mats, chopsticks in stainless steel and wood, and even kits to make your own sushi.

Fine kitchenware demands fine foods. The gourmet selection includes a selection of Grappolini extra virgin olive oils in their trademark dark bottles (light is not olive oil's best friend) marrying tradition and technology to deliver a delicate product to enhance any flavour.

Martelli handmade pasta, in its unmistakable yellow packaging, is made with the best durum wheat and dried at low temperatures so its porosity absorbs sauces for unique dishes every time.

Living Interiors now plans to augment its stock of fine wines from all over the world and Neuhaus handmade chocolates to complement any gourmet feast.
