A forensic analysis yesterday confirmed that bones washed ashore in Għajn Tuffieħa are human and probably belonged to a woman.

The bones, in an advanced state of decomposition, were scattered over a wide area near the Golden Sands Hotel.

Two children playing in the area found the remains and immediately informed their father, who called the police.
