A Cospicua man was yesterday charged with stealing Lm60 worth of lottery tickets and a purse on two separate occasions last week.

George Vella, 29, pleaded not guilty to stealing the lottery tickets to the detriment of John Mousù on January 16 and stealing Grazia Formosa's purse the following day.

Magistrate Giovanni Grixti granted Vella bail on the condition he does not leave his residence without the court's permission and bound him by a personal guarantee of Lm200.

Police Inspector Geoffrey Azzopardi prosecuted.
