Britishjet.com Ltd yesterday filed a judicial letter asking the chairmen of the Malta Tourism Authority and Air Malta not to approach tour operators bringing British tourists to Malta and threaten to withdraw their subsidy on advertising in the UK if they used Britishjet.com as opposed to Air Malta.
Britishjet.com, launched by tour operator Bargain Holidays last month, warned the chairmen that if they persisted in their actions it was ready to take its case before the UK Ministry of Transport, where the company was registered, and before the European Union Commission.
Dr Anna Mallia signed the letter.
