Luxol, Depiro in final

As anticipated, Luxol and Depiro will contest the Louis Borg Cup final over two legs on March 12 and 16 following victories over Sliema Wanderers and St James Hospital respectively in the semi-finals.

Depiro made their intentions clear right from the start as they potted the first 15 points.

St James tried to make a fight out of it but their bold effort was not enough to stop Depiro from surging to a 36-20 lead at half-time.

The pattern remained the same after the break as St James were unable to match Depiro who finished 67-43 winners.

Sliema found it hard to keep up with Luxol's play. After a balanced start, seven consecutive points saw Luxol 15-10 ahead at the end of the first quarter. Luxol kept up their good play to extend their lead to 31-17 by half-time.

Twelve consecutive points, as the third session got underway, dashed any hopes Sliema had to survive as Luxol went on to finish worthy victors - 80-38.
