Madliena needs its own local council

For a long number of years, Madliena residents been suffering from the most awful roads. The Swieqi local council has never quite managed to provide the necessary funds to make our roads decent, maybe because it has too many localities to take care of and not enough money is provided by the central government. Madliena has always been left behind and its frustrated residents are powerless to do anything about it.

Madliena has, during the years, grown and today boasts of having about 1,400 residents. Can Madliena have its own local council so that maybe it can have direct funds for the serious upgrading of its roads?

After all, there are villages which have a lesser population than Madliena and have their own independent councils.
