Practically all streets at Zebbug centre are one-way, as they should be to accommodate both the drivers and the pedestrians. However, there is one exception, St Anthony Street, which is only three blocks long.
St Anthony Street is a very busy, narrow street, especially at the start of St Philip Square.
During the day there is always a commotion as only one car can pass and one wonders how the Zebbug council did not convert this dangerous and inconvenient street to one way.
There is no problem with having St Anthony Street one-way for all traffic coming from the side of St Philip Square as this three-block-long street leads to Siggiewi Street on the right and Mamo Street on the left. Both these streets lead to main, wide roads.
I trust the new mayor, who is a bright, intelligent lady, will take into consideration the daily problems created on St Anthony Street and direct that it will be turned into a one-way street.
