Undaunted by the relentless rain, the Malta squad this evening had its second training session in Tbilisi ahead of the Euro 2012 qualifier against Georgia on Friday.

After arriving in the Georgian capital in the early hours of Tuesday, the 18 players in John Buttigieg's squad were given time to rest before heading for their first practice session on Monday evening.

Buttigieg, assistant coach Carmel Busuttil and Luca Pagani, the national team's physical trainer, put the players through their paces at the rain-lashed Lokomotiv Tbilisi stadium this evening.

After a rigorous warm-up, the defenders and goalkeepers trained with Buttigieg while Busuttil took the midfield and attacking players under his wings.

Malta are scheduled to train at the 53,000-Boris Paichadze National Stadium, the venue of Friday's Euro 2012 qualifier. Georgia, who are under the guidance of Temuri Ketsbaia, will be looking to gain their first victory in this qualifying campaign after successive draws against Greece (1-1) and Israel (0-0).

Malta have no points after losing their opening qualifiers, 3-1 away to Israel and 2-0 at home to Latvia. The other nation in Group F is Croatia. Poland and Ukraine will co-host the Euro 2012 finals.
