The Malta Chamber's new president has set himself the target of implementing a regeneration strategy targeting the organisation's future priorities.

David Xuereb was elected as the 70th president of the Malta Chamber on Friday, in the first session of its newly-convened council. He succeeds Frank Farrugia, who served as president for the previous two years.

Mr Xuereb, an architect by profession, served as deputy president of the Malta Chamber since 2017 and has also served in various other positions within the organisation.

He is the CEO of QPM Ltd., lectures at the University of Malta and serves as a member of the climate change board and trustee of the Conservatorio Vincenzo Bugeja.

Addressing council for the first time, Mr Xuereb outlined his main priorities for the Chamber in the coming two years, top of which is the implementation of a regeneration strategy.

The strategy would ensure that the Chamber's vision is completely aligned to the current and future needs of its wide membership, Mr Xuereb said, as well as the ever-changing national and international business environment in which it operates.
