Alex Borg completed a remarkable comeback in the IBSF World Championships in China yesterday when recovering from 1-4 down to beat Alok Kumar, of India, 5-4 and book his place in the last 16.

The Malta champion, who compiled the highest break of the match with a 94, had a slow start winning just one frame from the opening five. However, he dug deep into his resolve making his the next four frames to complete an impressive recovery.

Today, Borg plays against China's Jin Long for a place in the quarter-finals which will be played in the evening session later on in the day.

Long had topped Group C in the qualifying group stage. Yesterday, he edged compatriot Tang Jun 5-4. Australia's Joe Minici or Mark Allen of Northern Ireland are Borg's possible opponents in the last eight.
