Malta Cine Circle presents awards of 65th National Film Competition
The event included the screenings of some of the best Maltese short-film productions
The Malta Cine Circle recently presented the awards of the 65th National Film Competition at the Gemini Hall, Malta Marriott Hotel, St Julian’s. The well-attended event included the screenings of some of the best Maltese short-film productions.
The awards were presented by the Malta Cine Circle chairperson Vincent Lungaro Mifsud to Maria Farrugia for the Jury Special Award; Jeanette Smith for the best female acting performance; Wayne Smith for the best male acting performance; Jonathan Backman for sound; Julian Cachia for editing; Zion Wheelan for direction; Clive Brincat for cinematography; and Bruce Micallef Eynaud for scriptwriting and the best production.
Elio Lombardi was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award which the Malta Cine Circle introduced for the first time this year. This award recognises the efforts and perseverance of Maltese film-makers who have been successfully active in film production over the past years.
The host for the evening was Theresa Gauci.
