The Maltese side in the European snooker championship for teams, currently being played in Glasgow, Scotland, was eliminated from the group stage after losing a decisive match against England 12-6 yesterday.

England won all their five matches from the qualifying phase and finished top of Group A with maximum points.

The second place in the standings was occupied by Scotland who beat Holland 12-6 in the last match.

Alex Borg, Duncan Bezzina and Simon Zammit played for the Maltese team in the championship.

They had three wins in Glasgow after victories over Holland, 13-5, Switzerland, 17-1, and Finland, 12-6. Earlier this week, Malta lost to Scotland 12-6.
