Malta firm wins top award

The Creditinfo Group, whose first overseas investment was in Malta, was awarded the Europe's 500 Award For Entrepreneurial And Innovation Management, Business Growth And Employment Creation.

The award was presented by Antonella Mei Pochtler, senior vice president of the Boston Consulting Group, to Creditinfo Malta's managing director Karl Xuereb during the Europe's 500 award gala dinner in Paris.

Europe's 500, created by Growth Plus and published by Europe's Entrepreneurs for Growth, is the only independent pan-European listing of high growth, job creating companies.

Close to 40,000 companies from 18 countries in Europe were nominated to the pool out of which the final Europe's 500 most entrepreneurial and innovative companies are chosen. The annual listing is endorsed by prestigious sponsors and partners such as Microsoft, PriceWaterhouseCoopers and Business Week, among others.

The Creditinfo Group Ltd, which is an Icelandic company, was listed at the 153rd place among the top 500 entrepreneur-driven companies in Europe in 2004. Among companies classified under the same business sector, the company placed seventh in Europe.

The company shows an annual employment growth of 79 per cent. This places it among the top 150 out of 496 companies
