An 18-year-old Italian national was yesterday still missing after being thrown overboard following a collision with a Maltese-registered yacht named Gypsy.

The boy was fishing with two friends, who were also slightly injured, some two miles off the harbour of Marsala, Palermo, when the Gypsy hit them.

Italian state TV Rai said the yacht was most probably owned by Italians.

The AFM confirmed last night that there were no Maltese on board the yacht.
