Joseph Calleja Christmas Special ft. Marco Mengoni

Maltese tenor Joseph Calleja will be joined by popular Italian singer-songwriter Marco Mengoni at the MFCC in Ta’ Qali on December 19 at 8.30pm.

The concert will feature festive classics, together with contemporary and operatic works.

The singers will be accompanied by the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra, under the direction of Aurelio Belli, and the BOV Joseph Calleja Children’s Choir.

Iljieli fit-Teatru – Chamberfest

The Mariele Zammit Tri-oh! − featuring Mariele Zammit on vocals, Warren Galea on guitar and Oliver Degabriele on double bass – will perform at the Pjazza Teatru Rjal Green Room, Valletta, tomorrow, December 15 at 7.30pm.

The concert will combine traditional Maltese għana with jazz and modern musical elements, and will include adapted poems, traditional rhymes and original compositions.

12 Days of Christmas

The Manoel Theatre in Valletta is presenting a series of 13 charity concerts of classical and contemporary music at the Sala Isouard from December 16 to January 3 at noon.

The series will feature young performers in collaboration with the Friends of the Manoel, with proceeds going to the Malta Community Chest Fund.

Prelude to Christmas

The Amadeus Chamber Choir is presenting the 34th edition of its Christmas concert at St Publius church, Floriana, on December 18 at 6.30pm.

The choir, under the direction of Brian Cefai, will be accompanied by the 1st Ħamrun Pipe Band Duke of Arygll’s Own. Proceeds from the event will go towards the Richmond Foundation.

A Christmas Concert at the Co-Cathedral

The Jubilate Deo Choir and the Pueri Cantores Jubilate Deo will join forces with organist Ronald Camilleri for a Christmas concert at St John’s Co-Cathedral on December 19 at 7.30pm.

The concert, organised by the St John’s Co-Cathedral Foundation, will be under the direction of maestro di cappella Christopher Muscat.

The event is fully booked.

Il-Kunċertun tal-Milied 2025

The Travellers are back this Christmas season with a new edition of their much-loved annual concert at St Agatha’s Auditorium, Rabat, from December 19 to 21 and 23.

The show, under the artistic direction of TakeTwo, will offer an intimate, behind-the-scenes experience of the final rehearsal before their big show. There will be candid interviews, personal reflections and never-before-seen moments woven directly into the concert, which will be packed with fan favourites.

Christmas at the Oratories

Maltese-Australian soprano Grace Feltoe, accompanied by Gisele Grima, will perform timeless sacred classics by Bach and Mozart, and beloved classic carols at the oratory of the Onorati in Valletta, on December 18 at 6.30pm.

Entrance is free but donations are welcome.

Access is from Archbishop Street.

Il-Kunċert tal-Milied 2025

Chorus Urbanus Productions are organising the 28th edition of Il-Kunċert tal-Milied at St George’s basilica, Victoria, on December 17 at 8pm.

The event is being held as part of the choir’s 50th anniversary celebrations, under the patronage of President Myriam Spiteri Debono.

Entrance is free.

KorMalta Chamber: Christmas Concert

Malta’s national choir returns to Spazju Kreattiv in Valletta to celebrate Christmas on December 17 at 7pm.

The concert will feature the KorMalta Ensemble, the choir’s newly formed professional group.

The Gift of Song: LIBERA in the Mosta Rotunda

The Mosta Rotunda Foundation, in collaboration with Visit Malta, is presenting its yearly Christmas concert entitled The Gift of Song: LIBERA in the Mosta Rotunda on December 20 and 21 at 7pm.

LIBERA, an internationally acclaimed boys’ choir, will perform Ding Dong Merrily on High, Sanctus (Pachelbel’s Canon), Silent Night and Noël Nouvelet, among others.

Carols at Christmas

TOI TOI is staging its seasonal comedy Carols at Christmas, starring Kelly Peplow, Emma Chetcuti and Kyra Lautier, at the Manoel’s Studio Theatre, until December 20.

It’s December and auditions are here for the Annual School Christmas Show. There’s just one problem: everyone wants to get the big solo spot.

Who will take centre stage? What tricks are they going to play to beat the odds? Are they all a bunch of cheeky kids?

The show is written and directed by TOI TOI Collective director Petra Sant.

Friżella

On Decembr 20 and 21, Benedittu Productions is staging a playful twist on Disney’s Frozen, brought to life by teachers, students, staff and alumni  of St Benedict College, Kirkop.

Miguel Samuel will once again play the role of the Dame.

Part of the proceeds will be donated to the Ursuline Sisters.

Stand-up Comedy Christmas Special

TOI TOI NextGen presents stand-up comedians Tim Borg and Andrew John Sciberras − as well as two guests in actual healthy long-term relationships − for a night of comedy and dating advice on December 19 at 8pm.

The show, suitable for an audience aged 18+, is being held at the Manoel’s Studio Theatre. Tickets from teatrumanoel.mt.

Almost Legal Alien

After sold-out shows in England, Germany and Austria, international touring comedian Mustafa Algiyadi is doing a residency at the Malta Society of Arts, Republic Street, Valletta, from December 15 to 18 at 8pm.

Algiyadi brings his eclectic humour to the stage as he hilariously navigates the cultural clashes between his Arab roots and European life. The show dissects everything from bad habits and religion to meditation and coming-of-age tales with velvet sofas, all delivered with a semi-intellectual flair.

DANCE

XITWAŻFIN|Winter Dance

ŻfinMalta, the national dance company, will unite with Of Curious Nature dance company for a double-bill of innovative choreographies at the Valletta Campus Theatre from December 19 to 21 at 7.30pm.

This collaboration features the world premiere of White Echo, a compelling new work by acclaimed choreographer Helge Letonja, and Fulgence, a striking creation by Brazilian choreographer Samir Calixto.

MISCELLANEOUS

Christmas in Santa Venera

Romeo Romano Gardens in Santa Venera is hosting a Christmas market from December 19 to 21 from 5 to 9pm.

The garden will have various festive, wooden stalls and a live walk-through crib, featuring beautifully crafted scenes with live actors, traditional settings and atmospheric storytelling.

Milied Tfuliti

Milied Tfuliti will bring the Christmas spirit to Naxxar’s square and Triq Santa Luċija on December 20 from 4pm.

The event will include a Christmas market and various children’s activities.

A highlight will be an open-air concert, featuring The New Victorians and the Versatile Brass Band, along with other performers.

Minn Qalb iż-Żrieraq

The Żurrieq community is coming together for a three-day Christmas celebration in aid of the Malta Trust Foundation between December 19 and 21.

Minn Qalb iż-Żrieraq, being held in Misraħ ir-Repubblika, will host children’s activities, games, food stalls, live entertainment, music bingo, among other activities.

There will also be food stalls offering traditional Maltese delicacies, sweets from the prison’s bakery and mouthwatering festive favourites.

Entrance is free but donations will be collected in aid of the Malta Trust Foundation.

Christmas parades in Valletta and Victoria

A Christmas parade, featuring twinkling floats, lively music and festive fun, will be held in Republic Street, Valletta, on December 20 and 21 at 8pm, and in Victoria on December 20 at 8pm.

Fairyland Malta

Fairyland Malta is back in Valletta and Floriana until January 4.

Attractions include Rudolph’s Big Wheel, Penguin’s Ice Skating, Santa’s Grotto and new rides such as Fantasia Tinsel Track, Frosty Bike Circuit, Candy Cane Slide, Dasher's Roundabout. There will also be a Christmas market and a food court. Children may also enjoy a fun and educational interactive laboratory, titled Chaos Lab.

Valletta Waterfront Christmas Express

The Valletta Waterfront is once again hosting several Christmas-related events in the coming weeks.

Younger visitors can also participate in a selection of complimentary activities such as daily parades and a traditional Baby Jesus procession. 

Santa and Mrs Claus will be available for photo opportunities until December 23.

The Magical Illuminated Trail and Christmas Village

The Magical Illuminated Trail 2025 is once again transforming the enchanting Verdala Palace Gardens in Buskett into a glowing wonderland of larger-than-life lanterns.
