How Malta helped turn a company into an international affiliate marketing player

The story of Adv Revolution, founded in 2019 by Vincenzo Armato, illustrates how Malta’s role as a global hub for affiliate and iGaming continues to attract — and accelerate — independent operators from across the Mediterranean

When Adv Revolution was set up in Sicily in 2019, it had no external funding, no established international network, and no guarantee that a small independent company could carve out space in one of the world’s most competitive digital sectors. What it did have was experience, persistence, and a long-term outlook — and, as it turned out, a strategic relationship with Malta that would prove decisive.

The company was founded by Vincenzo Armato, who has worked in affiliate marketing since 2012. Over the years he built expertise in digital customer acquisition, lead generation and performance marketing, operating in a sector where results are measured in real time and competition is global by definition.

Adv Revolution was born from that background as an independent venture focused on affiliate marketing, lead generation and performance-based digital campaigns. Early growth was gradual, built on execution, continuous testing and operational consistency rather than on outside capital or pre-existing market positioning.

Over time, this approach allowed the company to evolve from an independent operation into an internationally recognised name in the affiliate marketing industry.

Malta as a turning point

Malta has played a central role in that journey. Widely regarded as one of the principal hubs of the global affiliate and iGaming ecosystem, the island hosts some of the most important international events in the sector and has long been a meeting point for operators, advertisers and networks from Europe and beyond.

For a young business looking to establish credibility on the international stage, Malta offered something that few other jurisdictions could: concentrated access to decision-makers, a mature regulatory conversation, and an industry culture in which independent operators are taken seriously on the strength of their results.

In 2021 — just two years after its founding — Adv Revolution was named Affiliate Network of the Year at the AGS Awards in Malta. For a young company, the recognition was a meaningful validation of its direction and a significant accelerant of its visibility within the international performance marketing landscape.

Since then, Armato has been a regular presence at major industry events in Europe, North America and Latin America, building relationships across the global affiliate marketing ecosystem and contributing to the wider conversation about where the sector is heading. Malta has remained a fixed point on that calendar.

In 2022, Adv Revolution gained further international recognition by winning Affiliate Network of the Year at the Sigma Awards in Belgrade, consolidating the position it had first established on Maltese soil. In 2025, Adv Revolution was named Rising Star of the Year at the EGR Italy Awards in Rome — further confirmation of the company’s standing within the European digital marketing scene.

Industry involvement

Beyond running the company, Armato is actively involved in the international affiliate and performance marketing ecosystem. He attends global conferences and has served as a judge in several industry awards, including the SBC Awards, alongside other recognised events.

That kind of peer-level involvement is one of the less visible reasons Malta continues to matter to operators like Adv Revolution: the island’s events function not only as showcases but as working forums in which standards, practices and reputations are shaped.

Building on performance, not volume

Today Adv Revolution operates across affiliate marketing, lead generation and digital acquisition campaigns, working with partners focused on scalable, measurable growth strategies. Rather than chasing traffic volume alone, the company’s approach is geared toward building systems that prioritise efficiency, optimisation and sustainable results.

That philosophy aligns closely with where the wider Maltese-based industry has been moving in recent years, as regulatory expectations rise and advertisers demand cleaner, more accountable acquisition models.

Looking ahead

Adv Revolution intends to strengthen its international presence further, expanding partnerships and continuing to develop its performance marketing capabilities. The sector itself is in continuous transformation, driven by regulatory changes around data, growing platform dependency and shifting user behaviour. In that environment, adaptability and operational precision have become decisive competitive advantages.

For Armato, the future of performance marketing will depend increasingly on the ability to anticipate change and build sustainable systems rather than short-term campaigns.
