Representatives from the Malta Cruise Network are taking part in the Seatrade convention in Miami from March 15 to 18. The network has a stand promoting cruising to and from Malta.

Seatrade is the largest cruise and ferry convention in the world.

Launched in time for the 2004 cruise season, the Malta Cruise Network was founded by the major service providers in the industry: the Malta Tourism Authority, VISET plc, the cruise terminal operator, and Malta International Airport plc.

It has over 25 local partners, large service providers and government departments. These include the Malta Shipyards, the Ship Agents Association, the Maritime Authority, the Association of Tour Guides and the Malta Hotels and Restaurants Association.

In 2003, Malta welcomed over 400 cruise ships and 380,000 cruise passengers, as well as 1.2 million traditional tourists.
