Malta remembered the war victims today as it joined Commonwealth countries in celebrating Remembrance Day, also known as Poppy Day.

A guard of honour including the participation of the AFM was held prior to Mass, led by Archbishop Paul Cremona, at St John's Co-Cathedral.

A remembrance ceremony followed near the War Monument in Floriana. Wreaths were placed at the foot of the monument and a guard of honour was formed by the police and the AFM.

The event included the participation of former servicemen.
