Simon Gerada and Andrzej Makowski steered the Malta team to a place in the semi-finals yesterday at the Encamp Sports Complex after finishing second in the round robin group, behind Iceland.

Today, Gerada and Makowski will play against the Luxembourg pair for a place in the final.

Luxembourg were the undisputed winners of their section after similar 3-0 wins against Liechtenstein, Andorra and San Marino.

In yesterday's matches, Malta had the better of Cyprus and Monaco with identical 3-0 wins. Gerada and Makowski, however, lost to Iceland 3-1. Our only point came from Gerada who beat Ada Hardarson 3-2 after coming from two sets down.
