Malta will tomorrow join millions of people around the world and turn off electricity between 8.30 and 9.30 p.m. as part of the Earth Hour initiative.

During this time, Malta will turn off the lights at Portes des Bombes, the Mdina bastions and the aqueduct.

More than 1.8 billion people from 135 countries took part in the initiative, aimed at encouraging people to use cleaner energy sources, last year.
