A "Malta Tram" designed by the Malta Tourism Authority's Zurich office will be travelling through Zurich between May 27 and June 19.

The Malta Tram features prominent banners on the outside while its interior is decorated to convey a Maltese atmosphere, with an azure ceiling in imitation of the Mediterranean sky, artificial fishing nets dangling from the roof and various marine life forms and artistic impressions of the Maltese islands displayed on the walls.

Members of the public can enjoy lunch or dinner in the tram, where a vast array of Maltese specialities will be served. The Malta Tram menu includes bigilla, pastizzi, hobz biz-zejt, fish soup, thick vegetable soup, timpana, bragoli, rabbit, bread pudding and imqaret.

The project is aimed at familiarising the Swiss market with Malta and Maltese cuisine, while promoting Malta as a holiday destination.
