It will be testing time again for the Malta U-19 team this week after their creditable showing in the preliminary phase of the European Championship 2007 in Denmark in October.
On that occasion, they just missed qualification for the elite stage after finishing behind France and Denmark in the qualifying group.
The team will be facing their counterparts from Georgia in two friendly matches on Tuesday and Thursday at the MFA Training Grounds, Ta' Qali. Kick-off is set for 6 p.m.
No doubt, coach Edwin Camilleri will be eager to monitor his players and draft in new faces in a squad which has shown promise.
Besides serving as useful build-ups for the next U-19 European Championship, such matches will also provide the possibility of promoting more talented components to the U-21 squad.
