He’s been called a ‘pillar of Canadian art’ and has spent the past 10 days painting watercolours of iconic Maltese landscapes.

Now local art enthusiasts will get the chance to meet Tom Forrestall in person, the Corinthia Palace's first artist-in-residence.

Mr Forrestall’s two-week stint in Malta will culminate in an exhibition entitled ‘18 Days on Malta: A Closer Look at 7,000 Years of History in Words & Paint’. The exhibition will take place at the Corinthia Palace Hotel & Spa this coming Saturday, April 23.

The artist will also be holding two public salons on the same day, at noon and 5pm, to discuss his works and meet with members of Malta’s art community.

Mr Forrestall’s Malta-themed paintings will also be up for sale, with half the proceeds to be donated to Din l-Art Ħelwa. The collection is being curated by the Corinthia Palace’s curator-in-residence Ray Piscopo.

Both salons on 23 April are free of charge, though booking is recommended. For bookings, email marisa.xuereb@corinthia.com or by calling 2144 0301.
