From the correspondence and opinions I come across in The Times I gather that most pro-divorce campaigners are trying to bait other fellow Maltese into their net by saying that divorce will be introduced in Malta sooner or later. So, they are arguing, let's introduce it now!
The fact is that at present the majority of Maltese do not want divorce in our Catholic islands. Besides, the greater part of our MPs are still practising Catholics and, as such, they know that divorce is an act condemned by Christ and in no way want to promote it.
Today, the Maltese are against divorce. In the future those who will be living on these islands will decide for themselves, not excluding that, by God's grace, those in favour of divorce can change their minds as well.
