Le Méridien Phoenicia's chefs Steve Mallia and Reuben Grixti were both awarded gold in the Junior Team Competition at the recent Turkey Salon Culinaire.
On an individual basis, Mr Mallia was also awarded the Best Junior Chef of Salon overall, a prize to go with his gold in the six-plated main course and silver best in class for both fish and game platters.
Mr Grixti won another four medals with gold for his meat platter and three silver best in class for his avocado, duck and pasta dishes.
This year's event attracted a total of 18 teams compared to 15 teams last year.
The Malta team won the highest number of awards from all participating teams.
In total, 700 chefs competed in the Turkey contest. Chef Martin Camilleri, on behalf of the Malta Culinary Association, led the Malta team.
Before travelling to Turkey, Mr Grixti had completed a stage at Le Méridien Excelsior Gallia in Milan.
