An eleven-a-side football match was yesterday played between Members of Parliament from both sides of the House of Representatives and a team led by Austrian Federal Chancellor Wolfgang Schüssel, who is enjoying a private stay in Malta following his official visit to the island last Friday.

The match, organised by the Austrian Bawag Bank, was played at the Centenary Stadium in Ta' Qali and saw the Maltese team win by four goals to two, scored by David Agius, Joseph Falzon, Carmelo Abela and Chris Agius.

The Austrian team was made up of Austrian businessmen, Austrian MPs and members of Dr Schüssel's delegation.

The match was the second for the MPs' football team, the first being played against Austrian MPs about four weeks ago.

Other members of the Maltese team, which is coached by Ronny Attard every Thursday, are Joe Abela, Robert Arrigo, Michael Gonzi, Sylvio Parnis, Anglu Farrugia, Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando and Jason Azzopardi.
