A Maltese man was among three sailors rescued from a yacht off Newfoundland, according to an Icelandic website.

mbl.is reported that the three men were picked up by a a cargo ship 400 nautical miles from Newfoundland.

The sailing yacht had been heading for Iceland but was caught in a storm.  Two of the crew were Icelandic and the third was Maltese. All were safe.

They are being taken to Canada.
