The competition is divided in two parts, a grand buffet display section and the hot kitchen section.
For the grand buffet the team will be provided with a 5 x 3 metre table on which they have to display a selection of show platters, cold appetisers, canapés, a five course gourmet menu, a vegetarian platter, four main courses and a selection of sweets and desserts.
In the hot kitchen they have to prepare and serve a three course gourmet menu for 100 persons.
The Maltese team will be under the leadership of Victor Borg and Joe Vella.
The Malta Cookery and Food Association is affiliated to the World Association of Cooks' Societies and is recognised as the official representative of Malta at international events.
