As part of the activities for next year's Olympic Games in China, the Maltese Olympic Committee (MOC) will be sending two youths to attend the Beijing 2008 Olympic Youth Camp (OYC). Around 800 teenagers from across the world will be at the OYC during the Beijing Games.

All countries will be represented by a male and female athlete whose ages vary between 16 and 18.

In a statement, the MOC said they are looking for future leaders who are up to the challenge and wish to get involved in the field of sport in Malta.

The two representatives will be selected through a project-based competition.

The MOC is inviting all post-secondary school students and others to participate in this unique once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Participants can come up with any sport-related project whether for their school or the community.

Project proposals will be short-listed for actual implementation. The best projects will win two candidates a free trip and participation at the OYC next year.

More information will be made available on www.nocmalta.org.

One may obtain more details by phoning the MOC on 21-332801. The deadline for submitting applications is December 31.
