A man died after falling three storeys in a Qormi construction site.

The police were informed about the fall, limits of Ħandaq, at around 9am.

The victim - a 52-year-old Georgian national who lives in St Paul's Bay - was rushed to Mater Dei Hospital.

He died soon after.

Magisterial and police investigations are ongoing.

OHSA investigating

The Occupational Health and Safety Authority is investigating the tragic death.

It said in a statement it "immediately started its investigations into the cause of this accident in terms of section nine of the OHSA Act".

Pending investigations, the OHSA is not in a position to comment on the accident.
