Man accused of stabbing step-daughters granted bail in separate case
Nazzareno Dalli is now allowed to leave the walls of Corradino prison.
A man who stands accused of stabbing his two step-daughters was granted bail in a separate domestic violence case on Thursday.
It means Nazzareno Dalli, from Cospicua, is now allowed to leave the walls of Corradino prison.
Besides the attempted murder charge, Dalli separately stands accused of causing his partner and her daughter to fear that violence would be used against them in an incident that allegedly took place in January front of the child.
He was also accused of causing the woman slight injuries, threatening and insulting her, as well as wilfully damaging her belongings.
He was charged with those alleged crimes in January and kept under preventive custody until Thursday’s court decision. Two previous bail requests were rejected.
Dalli had been in preventive custody over his double attempted murder charge.That incident took place in March 2024 at their home on Triq San Tumas in Marsa. He was eventually granted bail in those proceedings in December that year.
The 12-year-old child he is alleged to have attacked suffered multiple stab wounds and was critically wounded. The other, aged 15, was injured on her hands. A 14-year-old boy who was also present at the time was not injured but was later treated for shock.
Dalli was back in preventive custody this January following the recent domestic violence case.
