A 20-year-old man was put on probation after admitting to stealing beer and juice from a kiosk in Msida.

Adrian Zammit, from Cospicua, was charged with stealing eight crates of beer and two boxes of juice from Golden 7 kiosk in Msida.

Magistrate Doreen Clarke put him on probation for 18 months, telling him that while she was not ordering him to follow a drug rehabilitation programme, he needed to follow the probation officer's advice in its entirety.

Inspector Jonathan Ransley prosecuted while legal aid Victor Bugeja appeared for the accused.
