Man on bail caught in a bar

Former far-right youth leader was meant to be at home

A 23-year-old man pleaded guilty to breaching his bail conditions when he was caught in a bar, and saw his €500 bail deposit forfeited in favour of the state.

Eman Alexander Cross was caught by the police at an outlet in Ħamrun when he should have been at home, according to his bail conditions, where a curfew was imposed between 7pm and 7am.

Cross, previously known as a far-right activist, was accused of breaching a set of bail conditions handed down in April 2024 and of recidivism.

After Cross was warned that he was potentially facing prison time, he confirmed his guilty plea.

The court took into consideration that Cross cooperated with the police, ordered that the €500 as part of his bail conditions is forfeited in favour of the state. It also fined him €200.

Magistrate Monica Vella presided. Police inspector Sarah Kathleen Zerafa prosecuted. Lawyer Adriano Spiteri assisted the accused.

In 2022, Cross was charged with threatening his mother and her partner.

He pleaded not guilty to breaching the conditions of a probation order and unlawfully possessing a weapon.

At the time, he described himself as the leader and founder of Malta Right Wing Youths, the youth wing of the Imperium Ewropa. He was reportedly kicked out of that group due to behavioural issues.
