A Cospicua man was yesterday charged with possessing and trafficking in various types of drugs three years ago.

Simon Bartolo, 33, pleaded not guilty to possessing and trafficking the cannabis plant or part of the plant, cannabis resin, ecstasy and LSD on and before June 27, 1999.

He was also charged with possessing cocaine without a licence and breaching the conditions of a previous release.

Bartolo was granted bail against a personal guarantee of Lm2,000.

Police Inspector Neil Harrison prosecuted.

Dr Franco Debono appeared for the defendant.
