Another man is under arrest

A man, 33, was critically injured in a shooting in Vittoriosa on Sunday afternoon.

The incident happened at 1pm near the entrance of an apartment block in Sacred Heart Street at Tal-Ħawli housing estate close to St Edward's College.

The police said a suspect, a 70-year-old man from Vittoriosa, was arrested minutes after he left the scene.

The shooting followed an argument. The victim suffered a single gunshot wound.

Senior police officers and members of the forensics team were on the scene along with medical teams.  Police officers were also seen searching a roof overlooking the entrance to the apartment block.
