Man, 74, dies after being crushed between truck and heavy machinery in Dingli

Incident happened in Sqaq Kalkara

A 74-year-old man has died after the back door of a truck fell on him in Dingli.

Police said they were called for assistance at 10am on Friday in Sqaq Kalkara.

Preliminary investigations indicated that the metal door of the truck fell on the man and pinned him against the bucket of a heavy machinery vehicle. 

The man was found dead on site.

Magistrate Monica Borg Galea opened an inquiry. 

Police are investigating the incident.

This is the second fatal workplace incident this week, following another fatality in Qormi two days ago, when tiles fell on a man while he was working.
