A 23-year-old Cospicua man was arrested in Gzira yesterday in possession of just under a kilo of cannabis resin, the police said.

The arrest, by the drug squad, followed days of surveillance leading up to the interception of a vehicle on the way to Sliema.

The drug was found hidden in the vehicle, the police said.

The man is expected to be arraigned soon.
