Man jailed for 18 months after pleading guilty to drug trafficking

It is understood the 54-year-old was seen selling drugs at a club

A 54-year-old man was jailed for 18 months on Tuesday after pleading guilty to drug trafficking charges.

Krassimir Todorov Dimitrov, a Bulgarian national, was accused of having cocaine in circumstances which denoted that it was not intended for his personal use. He was also charged with trafficking drugs within 100 metres of a club frequented by youths.

Dimitrov was accused of not providing his personal details to police and living an idle and vagrant life.

It is understood that the man was seen selling drugs at a club. The police found him in possession of empty sachets and weighing scales.

The court found the man guilty by his own admission, jailed him for 18 months and fined him €700.

The court ordered the forfeiture of €170 found in his possession and the destruction of the drugs.

Magistrate Lara Lanfranco presided.
