Man offers €2,000 reward for 'safe return' of stolen goats, sheep

The goats were stolen from Brian Baguley’s Ta Qali farm

A man is offering a €2,000 reward for the return of eight pet sheep and goats that were stolen from his farm in Ta’ Qali.

Brian Baguley, who has been rearing animals for the past three years, discovered the seven goats and one sheep missing from the farm near Ta’ Qali stadium when he went to feed them at around 10am on Tuesday.

“Some crops I have growing nearby were flattened, and the thieves also stole some rope, so I think they bound their legs before dragging them away in the middle of the night,” he said.

“At least they didn’t steal any other animals.”

Baguley said he had been told that police were scouring CCTV footage in the area and beyond.

“Children would often come to play with them, and the animals themselves were like my children.”

Baguley appealed to anyone with information on the theft to come forward, and said he was offering a €2,000 reward for their safe return.

Police confirmed a report had been made and that an investigation had been opened.
