A man allegedly found in possession of cannabis, heroin and codeine was placed under house arrest after pleading not guilty.

James Hughes, 33, was allegedly found with an unspecified amount of drugs, which suggest they were not for his personal use, at his house in Msida last Wednesday.

After taking into consideration the fact that he cooperated with the police, Magistrate Edwina Grima granted him bail and placed him under house arrest against a personal guarantee of €10,000 and a deposit of €1,000.

The court allowed him to leave his house to receive treatment.

Police Inspector Johann Fenech prosecuted.

Lawyer Joseph Giglio appeared for Mr Hughes.
